Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is a famous American music producer and singer. Her name is also her most well-known nickname, Queen of Funk. Her total number of Grammy awards is of ten Grammys over her entire career spanning more than 50 years. Billboard Magazine ranked her at the 65th spot as the best dance artist in history. Her mother introduced her to jazz while she was a child. At the beginning of her career she played with a variety groups. She later joined a band called Rufus. Her debut album was released as a member of the band at age of 20. The group won their first Grammy award a year later. The self-titled debut album in the years that followed her solo debut. In the following years, she recorded a few albums like "Echoes from an Era," The Woman I Am as well as Funk This. Alongside her music acts, her charitable efforts has earned her plenty of attention. She founded Chaka Khan Foundation to help children in need. Chaka Khan Foundation to help children with families in need, as well as those suffering from autism. Khan is also an occasional actor.
