
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most memorable role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. (1980-1988) during which time he earned five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series with the winner being announced in 1985. From 2010 to 2010 Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has played the role of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in a small town New York City. In addition, he has appeared in nine television shows inspired by Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the character of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). Also, he's appeared in over 50 different roles in television and films since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was the television character of Monica Geller's love interests Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Additionally the role of A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a leading role in the TV western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser on advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
